I'm not entirely sure it's what they were designed for, but these are now my favorite running pants. I go out for long early-morning runs with a small backpack and hydration packs. It's a bit chilly at 5am, so I wear these as long pants and that as I heat up, I take the legs off and put them away. This is an extremely lightweight material – good buy in my view, even if you simply use them as regular pants.
I ordered these pants for my husband because he hikes/camps often. These are particularly beneficial because they're lightweight and can convert into shorts or just be rolled up and secured with a button fastener.
We ordered the 3x dark grey color since my husband wears a 38x34 pant size and the 3xl was the closest to that. The pants mostly fit - with hiking boots the length is fine but anything else the leg is maybe 3/4” too short. The waist/crotch fit is more for men with shorter than average mid-sections. It’s not so bad that he can’t wear these pants, but he mentioned that this part of the pants being less roomy/baggy takes some getting used to. This is the third or fourth pair of convertible pants he’s had over the last few years. The detachable legs make them the best hiking and camping pants since you can adjust for temp, bugs, and terrain. The pockets seem sturdy and hold all the little bits he keeps on him when hiking and camping, like extra waterproof matches, compass, those weird compressed towel tablets... This is the first pair he’s worn with the Velcro around the ankle, and he’s on the fence. It is nice that the ankle can be better secured against ticks or dirt and debris, but where the Velcro pieces are sewn on has the edges hanging over, so that sharp edge and corner of the Velcro rubs against his ankles. Aside from these items, he says the pants fit pretty comfortably and he can move well in them. They dry quickly after getting wet, and the fabric is breathable enough to let sweat evaporate so he’s not left feeling swampy. They’re also easy to quickly wash and dry when out in the woods.
Just used these for some mid-June hiking in the mountains. They were perfect!
I really like the Wespornow hiking pants for a few reasons. First, the fabric is light and comfortable. It allows for freedom of movement with no pinching or binding. Second, it fits true to size, at least for me. The elastic in the waistband allows for some flexibility and ease of wear. Third, the pant legs zip off easily to create a pair of comfortable shorts. The length is just about right when converted to shorts as the hem rests right at my knees. The only thing I don't like is the back pocket. I really wish these pants had two back pockets. I'm left handed and normally put my wallet in the left back pocket. Since these pants only have a pocket on the right side it makes for some awkwardness. That's not enough for me to rate these pants any less than five stars. I think for the money these are a great value.
These are amazing pants! Went off of their size chart and am very happy with their fit! They are a little tight in the crotch, but they have enough of a stretch to the material that they never get uncomfortable. The material has a good amount of stretch, is very comfortable and breathable. Zippers all function nicely!
My husband's glad I sized up, when ordering this. He wears XL and sometimes 2XL pants, depending on the cut & brand. We often find that Amazon clothing that may not be made in the USA are usually smaller than US sizes. This 2XL hiking pants are a good fit for his 6'2 frame. The waist has some stretch and doesn't feel constrictive, when bending or changing positions. His legs don't feel constricted either. He likes the bug-prevention tie on the leg bottoms. The dark gray color almost looks like a dull black. He can pair this with different colored shirts. I've washed this on both warm & cool water in the washer. Doesn't need to be put in the dryer since it air-dries in less than 1 hour. Material feels ok on his skin.
